Mackenzie Abramson is a dedicated advocate, driven by her personal journey and commitment to amplifying voices of patients, caregivers, and advocacy groups. Diagnosed in her mid-20’s with her first rare disease, Mackenzie pursued advanced education to bridge the gap between public health initiatives and rare disease, honing her skills in self-advocacy while navigating the complexities of her own diagnostic journey. Her advocacy efforts have reached an international scale, involving active participation and speaking with organizations such as Patients as Partners, Global Genes, The Everylife Foundation for Rare Disease and Congress, NIH Rare Disease Day, and more.
Mackenzie's work focuses on rare and chronic diseases, mental health, and women’s health patients while partnering with the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries to create meaningful change. Drawing on her experience in research, communications, public health programming, and patient operations, Mackenzie specializes in bridging the gap between patient communities and industry stakeholders, ensuring that patient needs and insights are at the forefront of research, development, and care initiatives. By sharing her story and insights, she hopes to inspire others to navigate their healthcare challenges with tenacity and resilience.
When she is not working in advocacy, Mackenzie is an an adventerous Enanegram 2 that spends her spoons doing home projects with her fiance and fur babies.
Mackenzie is committed to and wholeheartedly believes in empowering patients, transforming the way their voices shape the future of healthcare, and enhancing patient engagement throughout the research and development lifecycle.
Guided by patient experience and driven by purpose, we combine mindful strategy with measurable impact to transform healthcare challenges into meaningful outcomes for both individuals and organizations.
Behind TACT
a deeply rooted personal journey
The heart behind TACT is rooted in a deeply personal journey as a rare and chronic disease patient. Mackenzie has been immersed in a resilience that she didn’t know would be a way of life more than a skill.
She know what it’s like to feel frustrated, isolated, confused, and overwhelmed while trying to make sense of complicated health conditions and health systems that weren’t built for the complex patient. Our team has experienced firsthand the burden of navigating illness and the toll it takes, not only on patients but also on caregivers and loved ones. That’s why we are passionate about ensuring others are equipped with knowledge to be their own TACT or tactical team team.
Having a TACTical team is essential to navigate complex challenges. At TACT, we are dedicated to empowering patients with the clarity, advocacy, and support they need to navigate complex health journeys while guiding industries and organizations to develop impactful, patient-centered strategies. At TACT we will help you navigate your challenges individual to you so the weight of being sick feels less like an unbearable giant on your shoulders and more like a mountain you will conquer.
At the same time, I’m dedicated to working with pharmaceutical, biotech, health tech, and clinical research industries to elevate the patient voice. Patients are at the core of these industries, yet they are often treated as secondary stakeholders. This disconnect leads to missed opportunities for collaboration, trust, and more effective solutions. By integrating the lived experiences of patients into the decision-making process, these industries can build stronger, more authentic relationships with the very people they aim to serve, ultimately improving outcomes for everyone involved.
My mission is to empower patients, caregivers, and stakeholders alike—ensuring every voice is heard and every solution is truly patient-centric.
